L.B. teen charged with Lido Beach robbery

Nassau County police arrested a Long Beach teen on Sunday after he allegedly robbed an 18-year-old in Lido Beach and threatened him with a BB gun.

According to police, the incident occurred on June 22 at 1:30 a.m., when the 18-year-old male was walking on Reynolds Drive. Police said 16-year-old Joseph Dauria confronted the man, displayed a black handgun and demanded his property.

Police said the victim gave Dauria his cell phone, a wallet with cash and personal papers. Dauria allegedly fled the scene and ran toward Lido Boulevard.

Police responded to the scene and arrested Dauria on the corner of Lido Boulevard and Blackheath Road. Police said he was in possession of a black BB gun.

Dauria was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
