Artists in Partnership Inc. hosted the 13th annual Cabaret Festival at the Long Beach Public Library, which ran from May 13 through 17. Live musical acts celebrated the cabaret genre and honored the late Broadway, opera, voiceover and recording artist Anita Darian.

Q & A sessions followed the performances.

Aspiring singers Anna Falvey, Jonathan Kapilian, Maegan Miciotta and Max Tunney performed in a master class workshop with a musical director and Rob Lester, a cabaret critic on Thursday evening. On Friday, Veronica Swift sang “The Darker Side of Cole Porter,” accompanied by musical director Tedd Firth on the piano. “The Living Room Show” featuring 2014 and 2015 MAC Award Winner Bobby Belfry and David Budway closed out the night.

A series of performers paid tribute to the late Anita Darian on Saturday. Anita Gillette sang “After All” accompanied by Paul Greenwood and several artists took part in a discussion of the cabaret genre. The festival closed out on Sunday with a performance by Pamela Lewis.
