Spotlight on Long Beach Surf Shop

Posted

The Long Beach Surf Shop, at 70 W. Park Ave., has been a destination spot for New York surfers for 15 years. “People come from all over for the selection,” said owner Luke Hamlet, right, pictured with his daughter, Emma. The two-story shop offers a selection of more than 350 surfboards including Channel Islands, LOST and DHD boards from Australia, said Hamlet. Popular surf brands like O’Neill, Roxy, Billabong, Vans, and Hurley give customers a variety of clothing and accessory options. From wetsuits and footwear to skateboards and sunscreen, Hamlet said that the shop has you covered.

Each week, the Herald will highlight gear and apparel from

the city’s four surf shops. Next week: Maritime Surf.
