The Lords of 52nd Street
Hear the best of the Piano Man, as performed by the Lords of 52nd Street. Liberty DeVitto, Richie Cannata and Russell Javors — whom Billy Joel handpicked to join him in creating his classic hits and on tour — are back on stage together once again with some lively renditions of Joel’s beloved tunes. The band — featuring DeVitto on drums, Cannata on saxophone and Javors on rhythm guitar — brings their rockin’ “New York Sound” to this dynamic tribute to the Piano Man. They’ll play an eclectic mix of tunes from the Joel catalog, including hits and rarities, played with the same energy and passion as they’ve played them countless times on countless stages the world over.
Friday, Jan. 23, 8 p.m. $55, $40, $35, $30. The Space at Westbury, 250 Post Ave., Westbury. (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com or www.thespaceatwestbury.com.

Exploring Nature

Special Places at Muttontown

Visit the “Succession Field Trail,” onetime farmland that has been reclaimed over the years by woods; the “Tall Conifers,” consisting of white pine, spruce and larch planted in 1909; “Hidden Pond,” a kettle pond tucked away in the preserve that is a great spot for bird watching; and “Glacial Kame,” a type of hilly deposit formed during the ice age. The walk covers three miles over somewhat rough terrain.
