Award winning songs
Singer-pianist, entertainer and bandleader Mitch Kahn will be performing at the Island Park Library on Wednesday, August 17 at 7:00pm. Kahn is a top society pianist and orchestra leader. Wednesday’s show will focus on songs which have won the Academy Award.  Wonderful songs such as “The Way You Look Tonight,” “Moon River,” and “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”. Come and enjoy!

Clams Clams Clams
They will come from all over Long Island and New York on August 14 to compete in the second annual Clam Eating Contest sat Peter’s Clam Bar in Island Park. The event will benefit Long Island firehouses devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The Firefighters first heat begins at 1 p.m., the piblic heat begins at 2 p.m. Anyone can take part. ‘In our yellow submarine’…
Famed cartoonist Ron Campbell, the animator on the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” film, among his many projects, visits Long Island Picture Frame in Massapequa Park, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 12-14, as part of an exhibit of his original Beatles cartoon art.
