St. Mary’s hosts Long Beach Fair

St. Mary’s Church — at 300 E. Park Ave. — will host the Long Beach Fair in its parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair is a family-oriented shopping experience with all vendors offering items that are not readily available in local stores and malls. Oyster Fest offers “Taste of the Sea”

The first annual Long Beach Oyster Festival “Taste of the Sea” event is coming to the city on Oct. 22. The event will feature three different types of oysters and a clam bar at Jetty Bar & Grill from 1 to 4 p.m. VOP $40 bracelet includes three hours of Heineken and oysters and clams. Musical guest is Dave Kellan and James “Wolfie” McGrath. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Long Beach Lightning hockey program.

H: Musicians to rock L.B. library

On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22-23, the city’s public library will host Long Beach ROXX NY 2016 Rock Music Festival. The free event is produced by Joanne “J-Bird” Phillips, a local musician and arts advocate, as well as J-Bird Music For The Arts, Inc., supporting the arts in education. It is open to the general public and is like no other Rock Music Festival on Long Island, offering a unique and eclectic lineup of Rock music and displaying the many facets of the genre for ages 8 to 80. Shine a Light Music Series Oct. 22

The Rockville Centre-based Tommy Brull Foundation will hold its annual Shine a Light Music Series on Oct. 22 at Cannon’s Blackthorn, at 49 N. Village Ave. Artists Lucero and Cory Branan will perform; tickets are available at http://www.ticketfly.com/event/1239819. Doors open at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit the foundation, which assists those suffering from physical, mental or emotional challenges.
