Nassau County Republican Legislator Denise Ford has retained her 4th District seat in the Nassau County Legislature by a vote of 6,943 to 4,311 for her challenger, Democrat Keith Lebowitz. Ford has held that seat since 2003.

Her involvement in the reconstruction of the Bay Park Sewer treatment plant, opposition to tax breaks and PILOT payments for the Long Beach iStar project, work on Lido and Austin Boulevards, repurposing of the Long Beach Motor Inn, obtaining Shot Spotter for Long Beach, and her involvement in rebuilding the district after Sandy helped send her back for another term.

"I am very thankful for all who helped me achieve this victory," Ford said, "I am humbled by the trust that the voters have in me and I will not disapoint them."
Democrat Laura Curran keeps her seat winning over Republican Michael S. Vista for the Nassau County 5th Legislative District. Curran just completed her first term of office.

Republican Howard Kopel held off Democrat Tova Plaut for the 7th District Legislature seat. He has held that office since 2010.

Republican Anthony Santino now holds the Hempstead Town Supervisor seat vacated by Kate Murray, garnering a more than 20,000 vote lead over Democrat Rita Kestenbaum.
