Taking selfies for SIBSPlace

Posted

A new program melds the trendy action of taking selfies with the old school concept of giving back to the community.

The Selfies for SIBSPlace mission is to have high school students collect $1 or more for a selfie, and the money benefits the South Nassau Communities Hospital-sponsored program that serves children 5-17 who have  either a sibling or parent enduring cancer or another catastrophic disease.

A wish list of items and estimated costs will be given to school community service groups. Then it can be determined which items will be provided. Items range from iPads to ice cream parties.

To get involved, contact Arlene Basner through SIBSPlace at (516) 374-3000.
