Two students from East Meadow High School are representing its DECA club at a national competition this April.

Formerly known as the Distributive Education Clubs of America, the national club challenges students in the world of business leadership.

After excelling at the state competition in March, the East Meadow students will compete at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida on April 27.

Freshman Kush Upadiyay became the first DECA student from East Meadow High School to qualify for the ICDC national round. Upadiyay earned a third-place finish in the topic of principles of finance with an instructional area of customer service. Matt Owens earned a trip to ICDC by qualifying in the area of accounting.
