Forgery
On Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m., a complainant, the manager of CVS Pharmacy located at 633 Merrick Road, Lynbrook, reported that a male entered the store and purchased a Visa Gift Card for $200. The male paid for the card with ten $20 bills. The bills were determined to be counterfeit. The male is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, six-feet-two-inches tall, black hair wearing jeans a black coat and a light blue baseball cap.
At 6:07 p.m. on Feb. 6, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) cashed a check written to the complainant in the amount of $215. The Lynbrook Detective Division is currently investigating.
 On Feb. 7 at 4:43 p.m., a complainant, the manager of Casey’s Clothing Store located at 28 Atlantic Ave., Lynbrook, reported that a male entered the store and purchased a pair of men’s socks for $3.95. The male paid for the socks with a $50 bill. The bill was determined to be counterfeit. The male is described as a black male, in his 30’s, six-feet tall, 180 pounds, thin build, light complexion wearing dark pants and a camel plaid coat with a scarf.
Identity theft
At 2:46 a.m. on Jan. 29, a complainant reported an unknown person(s) made charges in the amount of $1,170.73 on their LIJ Federal Credit Union Visa credit card.
On Feb. 4 at 6:20 p.m., a complainant reported an unknown person(s) made charges in the amount of $196.91 on their Bethpage Federal Credit Union Debt card.
At 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 5, a complainant reported an unknown person(s) opened and closed Bank of America, Dish Network and Time Warner Cable accounts in their name without their permission. The accounts were opened between 2011 and 2012.

 On Feb. 7 at 3:28 p.m., a complainant reported an unknown person(s) opened a T-Mobile account in their name and charge $436.61 to the account

Suspicious/unusual incident (identity theft)
On Jan. 30 at 10:30 p.m., a complainant reported that while checking their Capital One credit card account noticed 98 charges in the amount of $1,1739.50. The complainant called and cancelled the charges and their account with Capital One Bank.

Petit larceny
At 1:42 p.m. on Feb. 2, a complainant reported an unknown person(s) took their Apple iPhone 4S from their backpack while they were playing basketball at Sportime located at 175 Merrick Road, Lynbrook. The value of the phone is $400.
On Feb. 4 at 6:04 p.m., a complainant, the father of a student at Davison Avenue School located at 49 Davison Ave., Lynbrook, reported an unknown person(s) took their child’s Apple iPhone 4S from their locker. The value of the phone is $500.

Criminal mischief
At 12:55 p.m. on Feb. 10, a complainant reported an unknown person(s) damaged the door on their residence on St. Nicholas St., Lynbrook. The value of the damage is $300.
