Crime Watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

Man slashed outside of East Rockaway bar
A 23-year old man was assaulted injured in an altercation outside of Mr. Beery’s Bar on Altantic Avenue in East Rockaway on Jan. 1 at 3:50 a.m.
According to Fourth Squad detectives, the man was standing outside of the bar when he became involved in a physical altercation with two unknown male subjects.
Both subjects are described as male whites, 20 years of age, with thin builds, and 5’9” to 5’10” tall. The second subject. who was wearing a camouflaged cap, reportedly cut the victim with an unknown object. The subjects then fled on foot north towards Main Street.
The victim was transported by the East Rockaway Fire Department ambulance to a local hospital and treated for lacerations to his neck.
The investigation is ongoing.  Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Arrests
On Dec. 11 at 10:42 a.m., a 39-year-old of Freeport was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and uninspected motor vehicle At 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, a 26-year-old of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with assault at Lynbrook Police Headquarters.
A 27-year-old of Uniondale, was arrested and charged with two open warrants for aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana, unsafe lane change, failure to signal and unlicensed operation on Peninsula Boulevard on Dec. 12 at 4:27 p.m.
On Dec. 13 at 12:24 a.m., a 30-year-old of Jamaica, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, two counts driving while intoxicated, unsafe lane change and failure to signal on Scranton Avenue in Lynbrook.
At 11:35 a.m. on Dec. 13, a 45-year-old of Patchogue, was arrested and charged with an open warrant for City of Long Beach municipal code use of public sewers required on A 20-year-old of East Rockaway, was arrested and charged with an open warrant for unlawful possession of marijuana on Broadway in Lynbrook on Dec. 14 at 2 a.m.
