Drug bust at Lynbrook White Castle

A drug bust at a White Castle restaurant in Lynbrook has led to the arrest of a Massapequa woman and Valley Stream man, both charged with B felonies.

According to Lynbrook Police, Detective Sgt. William Straub observed Noor Mayan, 30, of Valley Stream, in what was believed to be a drug transaction while police were conducting surveillance in the parking lot of White Castle, 490 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, at 5:55 p.m. on Sept. 23. Straub had been watching the burger place due to recent drug activity in the parking lot, police reported.

After observing the alleged sale, Straub investigated the incident further with the assistance of Lynbrook Police Detective Christopher Skartsiaris and Lynbrook officers Sean Murphy and Christopher Lopez.

The investigation led to the arrest of Mayan along with Alyssa Romer, 26, of Massapequa, who was allegedly in possession of 50 wax paper bags containing heroin that police said she bought from Mayan. When they searched Mayan’s vehicle, where they said the transaction took place, they reportedly found an additional 75 packets of heroin.

Mayan was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a B felony, and one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a B felony. Romer was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 24.

Arrests

A 32-year-old man of Massapequa, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 23, and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

At 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 24, a 25-year-old woman of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlicensed Operation and Uninspected Motor Vehicle in Municipal Parking Field #1 in Lynbrook.

A 36-year-old man of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Menacing on Vincent Avenue in Lynbrook at 7:50 p.m. on Sept. 27.
