Crime Watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

Arrest
At 5:45 a.m. on Feb. 18, a 50-year-old man, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with 12 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and one count each of Unlawful Imprisonment and Menacing for an incident that occurred on Lakeview Avenue in Lynbrook.

a 28-year-old of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Failure to Signal, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Registration Plates on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook at 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 19.

At 1:29 a.m. on Feb. 21, a 31-year-old man of North Bellmore, was arrested and charged with three counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

A 32-year-old man of Jamaica, was arrested and charged with Assault on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook at 5:10 a.m. on Feb. 21.

Identity theft

A resident reported that an un authorized Verizon cell phone account was opened in their name at 10:18 a.m. on Feb. 14. The total amount charged to the account was $500.71.

A resident reported that an unauthorized Verizon cell phone account, with three phones, was opened in their name at 4:40 p.m. on Feb. 167. The total amount charged to the account was $1,446.79.

A resident reported that three unauthorized withdrawals totaling $809 were made from their Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union debit card account at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.

A resident reported that their Chase bank debit card account information was stolen when used at the ATM at the 7-11 located at 169 Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. The ATM had a credit card “skimming” device installed onto the machine. The total charged on the account was $1,480.

Note from the Lynbrook Police Department: The Petit Larceny case report from Feb. 9 for a L.L. Bean coat and car key has been cancelled. The coat has been returned to its owner after another patient from Lynbrook Neurology at 777 Sunrise Highway, took it home by mistake.
