Crime watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

A 61-year-old, of Freeport, was arrested on May 18 at 2:38 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (2 counts), Unlicensed Operation, Improper Registration Plates, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Uninspected Motor Vehicle on Sunrise Hwy.

On May 19, at 9:01a.m. a 49-year-old,, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlicensed Operation and No Seat Belt on Horton Ave.

Identity theft

At 10:45 p.m. on May 6, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) opened a AT&T cell phone account in their name. The amount of the cell phone bill is $145.54.

On May 9, at 1:52 p.m. it was reported that someone made three unauthorized charges on their TD Bank Checking account. The amount of the charges is $1,800.

At 2:11 p.m. on May 15, it was reported that someone made twenty unauthorized withdrawals on their Capital One Bank Checking account. The amount of the charges is $8,243.05.

Grand larceny

At 8:15 p.m. on May 13, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did remove four items of jewelry from their residence located on Surrey Commons. The jewelry, a diamond engagement ring, a diamond wedding band, a diamond tennis bracelet and a women’s Cartier watch, are valued at $23,000.00.

At 11:50 a.m. on May 15, the owner of AJ’S Standard Heat, located at 75 Rocklyn Ave, in Lynbrook, reported that someone called their place of business in February and placed three orders for heating oil to be delivered to three separate locations. The orders were paid for with a credit card over the phone and the deliveries were made. The complainant was then notified by their credit card company that the charges were fraudulent. The total amount of the charges is $22,202.

On May 18, at 6:29 a.m., a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) removed their 2008 Ford Escape from their driveway on Coventry Gardens. The vehicle is valued at $15,000.

Criminal mischief

n At 9:45 p.m. on May 11, a complainant reports that an unknown person(s) damaged the windshield of their 2010 Nissan, which was parked in their driveway on Taft Avenue in Lynbrook. The total amount of damages is $200.
