Michael Eric Dyson – “Race, Religion, and the American Presidency”

Sally Kohn – “In Defense of Political Correctness and Identity Politics”
A CNN commentator and Daily Beast columnist, Kohn is one of the leading progressive voices in America today. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 11:15 am-12:40 pm, John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus

Reed Abelson – “Your Health: What’s At Stake in the 2016 Election?”
New York Times Health Business Reporter Reed Abelson will discuss the evolution of the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) as well as other health policy issues, such as health care costs, mental health and consumerism (such as the role of patient choice and Medicate vouchers).

Eugene Robinson and Stephen Hayes – “What Issues Will Decide the 2016 Presidential Election?”
Robinson is a Washington Post columnist, MSNBC contributor, and winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for commentary on the 2008 presidential race. Hayes is a senior writer at The Weekly Standard, FOX News contributor, and author of two NY Times best-sellers: The Connection: How al Qaeda’s Collaboration with Saddam Hussein Has Endangered America and Cheney: The Untold Story of America’s Most Powerful and Controversial Vice President.

Ellen Fitzpatrick – “The Highest Glass Ceiling: Women's Quest for the American Presidency”
A professor of history at the University of New Hampshire and a scholar specializing in modern American political and intellectual history, Fitzpatrick is the author and editor of eight books including The Highest Glass Ceiling Women’s Quest for the American Presidency (February 2016).

Presidential Debate – Sept. 26, 2016
Hofstra University will host the first debate between nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, making it the first and only University in the nation to host three consecutive presidential debates.
