Four Inwood residents accused of attempting to break in to a Lynbrook Eatery were arrested early on Saturday morning, according to Lynbrook Police.

Jayleen Colon-Alvarado, 21, Christian Berris Rivera, 22, Jose Berrios Rivera, 34, and Madeline Lugo Rosado, 25, were arrested and charged with attempted burglary at Not Just Bagels, located a 101 Broadway in Lynbrook, at 12:27 a.m. on Jan. 24.

Police say the two Riveras climbed to the roof of Not Just Bagels and cut the power lines and attempted to enter the store to remove cash from the store’s ATM and cash register while Colon-Alvarado and Rosado served as lookouts. They fled the scene as officer Brandon Lavista, who responded to a report of persons on the roof, pursued them. Lavista arrested the first subject behind the building before tracking and arresting another. Police then searched the scene and found an acetylene torch, a pry bar and other tools.

Colon-Alvarado and Rosado were arrested the next day when they arrived at the Lynbrook police station report their boyfriends missing.
