Nature After Dark
When it’s dark outside, who knows what’s lurking in the neighborhood? Get up close and personal with some mysterious creatures of the night and find out, courtesy of Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center. Spend an evening in the sanctuary and learn about the many animals that wake up after everyone is ready for bed. Meet some nocturnal residents at a live animal presentation, then venture outside to search for some mysterious creatures while challenging your senses in the dark.

Seal Sightings
There’s still time to get a glimpse of Long Island’s seal population, on a seal cruise offered by the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation. Sail from Freeport aboard the Captain Lou Fleet to view winter harbor seals throughout Hempstead Bay. A naturalist is on board to discuss biology and seal behavior and other marine life encountered. The cruises, which continue through April, are a great opportunity to see wild seal and learn about the wildlife that surround us.
