State-of-the-art medical care when you need it
Excel Urgent Care of Wantagh
Each site treats all non-life-threatening conditions —including performing physicals, administering vaccines and tending to acute health conditions. “We see cases that are not emergencies, but urgent in nature and need to be treated the same day, such as an ankle sprain or asthma, for example,” Dr. Ruvo said. “We provide a quick, efficient high quality of care and are a low-cost alternative to the local emergency department.”
Excel Urgent Care celebrated its grand opening in Wantagh on Oct. 30. “We are committed to the community,” Dr. Ruvo said. “We provide compassionate, individualized care in a beautiful, relaxing environment. Instead of waiting hours in your local emergency department, you can be seen by our board-certified physicians, treated and discharged in about 30 to 45 minutes.”
The staff administers vaccines and flu shots, conducts physicals for school and sports and offers occupational medicine services, among the many services provided. For patient convenience, lab equipment and digital x-rays are available onsite and no appointment is ever necessary. The facility, which has five physicians on staff, is open during the day, evenings, weekends, and even on holidays. Most major insurance plans are accepted.
The staff works in partnership with local doctors in the community. “We’re here to keep everyone healthy,” Dr. Ruvo said.
To that end, Excel is offering free flu shots in all of its locations, while supplies last. “We want to be of service to the community and the physicians in the area,” Dr. Ruvo explained.
Additional facilities are being planned, with an office in Rockville Centre to open soon.
