Tennis tournament at Hempstead Lake

The Hempstead Lake State Park Tennis Tournament starts July 1! The tournament is open to all ages and ability levels. All entries must be made using the official entry form and be submitted with payment and a signed mandatory release form. The fees are $12 for singles and $15 for doubles teams. The entry fee also entitles the participant to a tournament t-shirt. Trophies will be given to the first place and second place finishers in the following divisions: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles. USLTA approved balls must be supplied by the participants.

Make a mini Zen garden!

Kids entering grades 6 to 12 can come down to the library on July 7 to create a mini Zen garden using intricate sand patterns and air plants.

Summer Science

Come to the library to learn about some of the most interesting fish in the ocean: sharks! This fun learning program will be held on July 5 at 7 p.m. It’s designed for kids entering grades 2 through 5.

Independence Day salute

Step back in time and celebrate a rousing Fourth of July as it would have been commemorated in 1865 at the end of the Civil War at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Tribute to the ‘Boss’

Tramps Like Us, the acclaimed tribute band, visits Eisenhower Park, on Friday, at 8 p.m., for an evening of devoted to Bruce Springsteen.
