Eight arrested in Inwood for drugs and a weapon

Pit bulls rounded up, house boarded up

Multiple law enforcement units collaborated on the arrest of eight for drugs and a gun in Inwood on Aug. 22, police said.

Police executed a search warrant at 24 Clinton Ave. at 5:22 a.m., and the of Bureau of Special Operations, Emergency Services Unit, Aviation Unit and the Fifth Squad found a gun, marijuana plants, marijuana, and controlled substances in the house.

In addition, the Town of Hempstead’s Animal Control rounded up at least two pit bulls. The town also inspected the house. It was declared “unlivable” and was boarded up.

Those arrested were: Caine Abel-Bey, 20, who was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of marijuana fifth-degree; Ashley Williams, 19, who was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh-degree; Raquan Howard, 18, and Stamey Holland, 25, who were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana; and Amber Mahoney, 26, for criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree. All five lived at 24 Clinton Ave.

Also arrested were: Keison Artis, 25, of Hempstead, for unlawful possession of marijuana; Michael Pedlar, 20, of Island Park, for criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh-degree; and Peter Sanford, 23, Charlotte, NC, for criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh-degree.
