A stunning fashion display at Malverne HS pre-prom

Who needs Vogue for fashion ideas when you have the graduating seniors of Malverne High School?

Last Friday, Malverne held its decades-old pre-prom tradition behind Malverne High School, where the students arrived by limo, fancy car or party bus, walked the red carpet runway, and proceeded inside for photos and then refreshments.

The crowd was held back behind the velvet ropes to ensure prom goers had enough room around them for all viewers to take photos, gawk and repeat.

The array of gowns was spectacular, and seemed to utilize every fashion style: long, elegant trains, sequined bodices, see-through skirts from the knee down with lace appliqués, plunging necklines, and ballroom-type elegance. The men looked GQ sharp, with vests, cummerbunds and other fashion accessories to match their date’s dresses.

After pre-prom, the seniors proceeded to Jericho Terrace to give their elegant clothing a dancing workout.
