H: What are your thoughts on the state of the county’s finances?
FB: Under the leadership of County Executive Mangano, together with the support of the Republican majority, we have made huge strides in right sizing the county’s budget — and this despite the devastation of Superstorm Sandy. This has been accomplished while holding the line on taxes, reducing debt and making some very tough choices along the way. Even so, we have continued to maintain all the essential services Nassau residents have come to expect.
Surely, there is a lot more work that needs to be done. However, with the support of Nassau residents in November, come January we will be ready to get back to work and to take on the challenge of seeing to it that Nassau County is no longer the highest taxed county in the nation, but still the best place to live and raise of family.

H: What are your primary goals and objectives for the upcoming term?
FB: I am running for re-election because being in the Republican majority has allowed me to be proactive in getting things done in the district, as well as to see my vision of proposing budgets that held the line on taxes, while fixing some of the systemic problems that the county has experienced under 10 years of Democrat leadership. Most importantly to the communities on the South Shore has been upgrading and now retooling the Bay Park Sewage Plant destroyed by Sandy. The county executive has proposed a $700 million capital project to fix the plant and make it state-of-the-art with the ultimate goal of installing an outflow pipe.
I, together with my Republican colleagues, have fully supported the funding for this project while the other side of the aisle continues to block our efforts to fully fund the project so it can be completed as quickly as possible.
