The threat of an impending storm has forced Nassau County and Town of Hempstead officials to postpone their Fourth of July fireworks shows, both of which were scheduled to take place on Saturday night.

Nassau County's event, in Eisenhower Park, will now be on Monday, June 28.

A Doo Wop Concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Lakeside Theatre, followed by the fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m.

As there is no formal seating, officials urge attendees to bring blankets and chairs. Space is limited, and visitors will be directed to other parking and viewing areas if needed.

The Town of Hempstead will host its fireworks show and concert, at Town Park Point Lookout on Lido Boulevard, on Sunday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m. A free Los Lobos concert will precede the fireworks.
