Mostly Cloudy Driver arrested for suspicion of DWI on Hempstead Ave.

A man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated on Sunday evening when his car struck a parked minivan and the Nassau Avenue/Hempstead Avenue street sign in Malverne.
The driver, a man from Ridgewood, Queens, and the passenger in his vehicle were both taken to the hospital by the Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps. No one was in the parked minivan at the time of the accident.
The car was traveling southbound on Hempstead Avenue when the accident occurred. The driver was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department.
