Quinones-Wright’s mother said that her son — who attended Malverne High School in his sophomore year — started to fear for his life after hanging with “the wrong kids” three years ago.

Officials said that they have not made any arrests in the case and that the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s Office is performing an autopsy on the body to determine the victim’s identity, but declined to share any other information about the investigation.

Quinones-Wright's family gathered at the crime scene on Sept. 13 — alongside friends and community leaders — calling on neighbors and witnesses to contact Nassau Crime Stoppers, 1-800-244-TIPS, to report any information about the shooting.

Funeral arrangements for Quinones-Wright have been scheduled for this week — a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Sept. 19 — at Shiloh Baptist Church, 96 N. Centre Ave., in Rockville Centre.
