Davison Avenue students shook it up at this year’s assembly.

Davison Avenue Intermediate School in the Malverne School District honored Black History Month at its monthly peacemakers assembly on Feb. 28.

Fourth-graders in Ms. Crawford’s class and fifth-graders in Mrs. Malone and Ms. Mark’s classes hosted the event, which included a small tribute to many notable African Americans and a very spirited dance titled Memphis Soul Stew.

All students and staff joined in the dancing, which set the stage for the presentation of the Peacemaker of the Month awards.
