A hemorrhagic stroke is harder to correct, it needs surgical interventions including restoring circulation to the rupture and removing the pressure on the brain.

What to do

Learn the indicators of a possible stroke. Know the risk factors and how to prevent a stroke. If you suspect that you or someone else is having a stroke, call for assistance immediately — (516) 889-7800 in Long Beach. If you are unable to speak because of it, still call 911, and they will be able to pinpoint your location. Maintain the person’s comfort, and support breathing and circulation. Remember the three-hour window to get treatment, so don’t delay or hesitate to call for help.
