Malverne Merchants to host annual egg hunt on April 19

Posted

On April 19, the Malverne Merchants and Professionals Association will welcome kids, both big and small, to its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Chester A. Reese Veterans Memorial Park.

As part of this traditional event in the village, participants are invited to rummage for eggs that are stuffed with goodies and hidden around the park’s gazebo. In two sessions, Children ages 4 and under will search for eggs starting at 10:30 a.m., while the 5 to 10-year-olds will hunt at noon.

Kathi Monroe, president of the Malverne Merchants and Professionals Association, said that both the young and young at heart will enjoy their time together at this year’s event.

“I would like this to be yet another opportunity for Malvernites to come together as a united group,” Monroe said, “to enjoy one of the many things that make our village truly special.”

Saturday’s festivities will continue across the village with the opening day celebration of Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s, which will start at 1 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. The celebration will feature a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny, a musical performance by Martini Garden, hayrides, farm tours and a petting zoo with plenty of bunnies.
