Malverne group seeks T-shirt design

The Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF), a non-profit organization supporting educational and fitness projects in the Malverne Union Free School District, is seeking a design for a t-shirt to commemorate one of its fundraising projects, a 5K run/walk.

The 5K run/walk will be held in October, and the organization uses a different T-shirt design each year. In the past, the design contest was open to local youth only. This year, the contest is open without age or residency restrictions.

The artwork must be original andĀ use two colors that will stand out on the white T-shirt. It must be suitable for the traditional screen print (no gradients). The artwork will be printed in the front of the shirt and will incorporate the following text: Malverne 5K, 2013.

The artwork in 500x500 pixels .jpeg format file must be submitted to Jan Kasal, contest coordinator, at info@malvernerun.org. Additional questions can be directed there as well. Deadline for submission is by 8 p.m. (ET) on July 15th. The artwork (jpeg) will be displayed on malvernerun.org website, and will be judged by former run participants. Their votes will determine the winning artwork.

The results will be announced on July 31 on that website. The author of the winning artwork will be asked to submit the artwork via email in editable Adobe Illustrator file format with text converted to outline. The artwork will becomeĀ the property of the MEFF and the author will be rewarded $100.
