Chris Koegel of Malverne led a field of 319 enthusiastic runners to the finish line at Old Bethpage Village Restoration in the first of a series of four 2014 Jonas Chiropractic Run Nassau Races.

Koegel, wearing the colors of the Lynbrook Runners Stop, scored in 17 minute, 18 seconds for the 5K, 35 seconds in front of Anthony Chan of the Central Park Track Club, with Jimmy Peck of Huntington Station in third place.

Several elected officials were on hand to support the event — county legis. Rose Marie Walker, Michael Venditto and Don McKenzie, and Oyster Bay Town Clerk Jim Altadonna.
The remaining three Jonas Chiropractic Run Nassau events are the Nickerson Beach 4 Miler on March 9, the Cedar Creek Park 5 Miler on March 23, and the Eisenhower Park 4 Miler on April 19.
