Protect Our Schools demonstration in Malverne, March 26

Residents of the Malverne school district, with dozens of other districts throughout the state, will be participating in a simultaneous "Protect Our Schools" demonstration tomorrow, Thursday March 26th at 3:30 p.m. The event is being organized statewide by the New York State Allies for Public Education, and will be held in Malverne at the corner of Aberdeen and Ocean Avenues.

The demonstration will last for 20 minutes and aims to show unity amongst parents, teachers, students and administrators who are dissatisfied with Governor Cuomo’s reform agenda. These items include, but are not limited to, excessive testing, teacher evaluations tied to test scores, lack of funding, charter school expansion, privatization, school closings, and state takeover of schools.
