Posted

Fitness classes started at noon and were held throughout the entire afternoon during the Keep Fit Fun event at the Freeport Recreation Center on Sept. 15. Palm of Hope, a nonprofit organization that supports children with life-threatening or incurable diseases, hosted the event in partnership with fitness instructor, Nykeisha Sanders from Freeport.

Some of the fitness classes were yoga, belly dancing and Zumba. The event also included health and wellness vendors that addressed nutritional needs and questions along with massage therapy, sports and fitness organizations. The event was free and was donation based. The proceeds collected not only supported the Palm of Hope’s mission, but will also extended services and resources to children with life-threatening illnesses in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
