Noah Rubin wins national tennis title

Noah Rubin, an 18-year-old Merrick tennis star, won a Wimbledon championship last month, but that alone was not enough to propel him into this month’s U.S. Open. A tennis court victory on Sunday in Kalamazoo, Mich., however, netted Rubin the U.S. Tennis Association’s Boys 18s National Championship and secured him a berth in the Open. more

At age 14, Noah Rubin can honestly say that he has one-upped Roger Federer's record at that age. Noah, who will be a freshman at Kennedy High School in Bellmore in the fall, just finished a stint on the national tennis circuit. He was one of three boys to represent the U.S. in the qualifying round of the World Junior Tennis Competition in Boca Raton, Fla. more
