At Norman J. Levy Park and Preserve, it’s easy to forget you’re in suburban south Merrick. While gazing at goats grazing in a pasture beside a tumbledown shed, trails curving out of view up a hillside, rushes hiding a stream, or vistas of bays and the beach, the sounds of passing cars or neighbors’ lawnmowers fall away into silence.
