Business center opens at Merrick Library Wing

Posted

Merrick Library employees, Chamber of Commerce members and local officials gathered on March 27 at the Merrick Library Wing, 2369 Merrick Ave., a block south of the main library, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its new business center.

The center will provide a space for independent contractors such as academic tutors and financial advisers to meet with clients and for job prospects to engage in online interviews. Users can reserve one of four carrels at $10 per hour, without Skype capabilities. A conference room with Skype access can be rented for $15 per hour. And the parlor can be reserved for more casual meetings at $15 per hour.

To make a reservation, call the Merrick Library’s media desk at (516) 377-6112, ext. 125 or the business center at (516) 771-1086 during hours of operation. The center will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment must be made before the reserved time at the wing or media desk.
