Candidates for county, town offices to appear in Merrick

Four civic organizations — representing Merrick, North Merrick, Bellmore and North Bellmore — will host a “Meet the Candidates Night” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Merrick Road Park golf course clubhouse, at 2550 Clubhouse Road in Merrick.

Joe Baker, president of the South Merrick Community Civic Association, said that his association and the North and Central Merrick Civic Association, South Bellmore Civic Association and North Bellmore Civic Association have invited the candidates for several local offices to participate, including candidates for county executive, comptroller, clerk and several legislative seats; Town of Hempstead supervisor, clerk and council seats; and judgeships.

Each candidate will have a few minutes to speak, and then audience members will be able to ask candidates questions, according to a SMCCA press release. Refreshments will be served.

More information is available by calling Baker at (516) 978-8310.
