Levy-Lakeside Elementary School in Merrick celebrated the written word last Friday with its annual Community Read-Aloud, at which elected and community leaders are invited in to read to classes. Among the attendees were New York State Sen. Charles Fuschillo Jr., Assemblyman David McDonough, Nassau County Legislator David Denenberg and former Merrick fire chief Ron Luparello.
