Several local elected officials took park in a political form at Temple Hillel in North Woodmere last Sunday.

State Sen. Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), Assemblymen Todd Kaminsky (D-Long Beach), Brian Curran (R-Lynbrook), David McDonough (R-Merrick) and Phillip Goldfeder (D-Far Rockaway), along with Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley) and Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf addressed issues ranging from the economy to healthcare and national security to an audience of about 350, officials said.

Area high school seniors and students from yeshivas made presentations on anti-Semitism on college campuses, and there was a voter registration table. Event organizers said the goal was to encourage people to get involved in politics and government.
