On Stage

Annie Jr.
Plaza Theatrical Productions stages an abbreviated version of the popular musical for the younger set. The charming red head Little Orphan Annie, played by Rockville Centre’s Melissa Aliotto, sets out to find her parents and encounters many adventures along the way. It’s a journey that takes her from the home of a billionaire bachelor to the President’s office, with, of course, all those delightful songs — including “It’s The Hard Knock Life,” “Tomorrow” and “Maybe.”
Saturday, Dec. 27, 11 a.m.; Sunday, Dec. 28, 1 p.m.; also Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 30-31, 11 a.m. $10. The Show Place at the Bellmore Movies, 222 Pettit Ave., Bellmore. (516) 599-6870 or www.plazatheatrical.com.

Native Voices
Explore some Native American traditions with storyteller Perry Ground, a Turtle Clan member of the Onondaga Nation of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy. He visits Long Island Children’s Museum to sharel his stories and his Native American culture. He learned the stories he has been telling for over 20 years from elders of various Native American communities and aims to keep these stories alive as a means of educating people about the culture, beliefs and history of the Haudenosaunee.
Sunday and Monday, Dec. 28-29, 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. $5 with museum admission ($4 members), $10 theater only. Long Island Children’s Museum, Museum Row, Garden City. (516) 224-5800 or www.licm.org.
