Sara is the daughter of Dr. Stuart and Annabelle Rosenzweig. Her brother, Jack, plays varsity soccer at Kennedy. She is majoring in biology at Geneseo, hoping to become an emergency-room doctor like her father.

Her studies are tough. She is taking chemistry and calculus this semester, in addition to the battery of core-curriculum classes that Geneseo requires. She studies nightly at Geneseo’s library with a group of runners from her team. “ A lot of us help each other,” she said.

Rosenzweig said she spends free time with friends from the team. “We’re not big partiers,” she said. “We hang out and watch movies.”

Her success at college doesn’t surprise Barbi Frank, an Advanced Placement biology teacher at Kennedy, where Rosenzweig was an A.P. Scholar with Distinction and an Intel Science Research Badge winner. Frank was one of her research advisers.

“She is just so nice and hard-working and conscientious,” Frank said. “She really knows how to set her priorities in order, whether it’s for sports or being a biology major, but her character is really the most important thing.”
