Merrick Dunkin Donuts robbed

Seventh Precinct detectives are searching for a man who robbed a Merrick Dunkin Donuts at gunpoint early Tuesday morning, officials said.

Police said that at 4:50 a.m. on June 11, the armed suspect approached the walk-up window of the shop, at 56 Sunrise Highway. He reportedly ordered a cup of hot chocolate. When the 39-year-old Dunkin Donuts employee returned to the window, the man allegedly pulled out a black handgun and demanded money.

After he received an undetermined amount of money, he fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, 5-foot-7 and 125 pounds, wearing a dark shirt, sunglasses and a gray scarf over his face.
