Merrick families have an ‘eggstravagant’ time
Tim Baker/Herald Life
Emily and Jillian Nader, ages 10 and 6, and Ruby and Marcus Ciliabrasi, 6 and 3, were among the dozens of children who took part in the North and Central Merrick Civic Association’s 2014 Spring Eggstravaganza last Saturday at Fraser Park in North Merrick.

The North and Central Merrick Civic Association threw its annual Spring Eggstravaganza on April 12 at Fraser Park in North Merrick. Merrick families with young children flocked to the park at 11 a.m., finding a Wonka-like field of multi-colored eggs. The children carried out Easter tradition by collecting basketfuls of the eggs. The fun continued with a “matzos beach ball toss” in celebration of Passover, arts and crafts activities and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1282, Printing Emporium and Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg also co-sponsored the event.
