Two men armed with a handgun robbed Jerusalem Auto Inc., a used car dealer at 1345 Jerusalem Ave. in North Merrick, on June 14 at 6:15 p.m., according to Nassau County police.

Detectives said the men struck the salesman on the head with an unknown object and threw him to the ground. They then removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim’s pocket and took his wristwatch and wallet before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for a cut to his face. He was treated and released.

The suspects were described as black males wearing black ski masks and hoods. No further description was available, police said.

At press time, police were working to identify a third black man and red car potentially involved in the robbery. Officials said the man pretended to look at cars in the lot to distract the salesman so the two other suspects could hide inside the dealership until he returned.

Detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to call the First Squad at (516) 573-6153. All callers will remain anonymous.
