Posted

PSEG Long Island is reporting that, as of 2:22 p.m. Monday, 522 of its 1.1 million customers across Long Island and the Rockaways are currently without power.

UPDATE: As of 2:22 p.m. on Monday:

In Long Beach, 487 households have lost power. A crew has not been assigned yet.

In Elmont, less than 5 households have lost power and should be restored by 6:45 p.m.

In West Hempstead, less than 5 households have lost power and should be restored by 6:45 p.m.

In Lakeview, 7 households have lost power and should be restored by 3:45 p.m.

Electric service crews will work through the day to respond to outages as safely and as quickly as possible. For safety reasons, work involving bucket trucks could be delayed until wind conditions are safe. PSEG asks our continued patience if there is a loss of power during hazard and unsafe conditions. Just as soon as it is safe, crews will respond to outages.

"Our goal, always, is to restore power as quickly and safely as possible," PSEG wrote in a statement. "We ask our customers for a fair amount of patience and to know we will be there just as soon as it is safe."
