Playing dodge ball to benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation

Posted

For the second straight year, Jake Silverman, a Kennedy High School rising senior, recently organized an event to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. With the support of the Kennedy Student Government, this year’s event was a dodge ball tournament. More than 70 students turned out to play or support the cause. The event was underwritten by local businesses, which donated money to the Student Government to buy T-shirts for the players and supporters, as well as first- and second-place team prizes. Silverman started the AFA fundraiser because his grandfather suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
