Police rescue two women suffering from heroin overdoses

Police officers from Nassau County’s 1st Precinct saved two women, both in their 50s, who were found in a car on Horatio Avenue in Merrick on Sept. 1, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from heroin overdoses. The officers administered the life-saving drug Narcan, which revives a heroin user suffering from an overdose.

The officers also performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The women were rushed by Nassau County police ambulance to a nearby hospital, conscious and breathing.
