The Merricks go trick-or-treating

Posted

Halloween came early in the Merricks this year: On Saturday, Oct. 25, ghosts, ghouls and goblins haunted downtown Merrick and North Merrick’s Fraser Avenue Park.

It was all in the name of scary good fun. The Merrick Chamber of Commerce led its annual Halloween parade, which saw children in costumes, accompanied by parents, trick-or-treating at businesses along Merrick Avenue. The North and Central Merrick Civic Association invited local families to its annual “Halloween Spooktacular” at Fraser Avenue Park, which featured games, clowns, piñatas, and the like. The Printing Emporium, State Assemblyman David McDonough and Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg co-sponsored the event.

McDonough and Denenberg are on the ballot in next week’s election.
