Yes, Charlie Brown, the Great Pumpkin has been found in N. Merrick
It’s impossible to miss the enormous pumpkin on the front lawn of Dominic and Shannon Carioti’s North Merrick home. It weighs a whopping 566 pounds and was grown by Shannon’s uncle, Scott Russell, on his farm in upstate Corning. Russell, who retired from Corning Inc. as a glass blower, has for decades farmed 10 acres as something of a hobby, Shannon said. At left were, from left, Landon and Lacey Behrens, both 2, Johnny Carioti, 9, and Kelsey Carioti, 6, and, at front, Amanda Monforte, 1. Shannon Carioti’s brother-in-law, artist Jay Monforte, carved the pumpkin, inset.
