Good deeds at Temple Avodah

Temple Avodah celebrated its annual Mitzvah Day on April 19 by doing good deeds for the community. There was a food drive, gardening and rescue pet adoption, among other events. “Mitzvah Day is special because it make us aware of the needs of others and lets us focus our efforts on those needs instead of our own,” said temple president Tom Wieder. “Our kids learn the importance of doing for others and the sense of satisfaction that comes with performing those selfless deeds. Our adult congregants feel the joy of volunteering and come back year after year to do more.”
