On Stage

Rodgers and Hammerstein Celebration
Those beloved songs that made musical theater history are reinterpreted in a tribute to the legendary songwriting team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. This delightful afternoon of song relives some of the best of the Great White Way. The South Shore Symphony Orchestra accompanies a cast of vocalists who will honor those undisputed kings of Broadway. They’ll perform classic songs from “Carousel,” “State Fair,” “The King and I,” “Oklahoma,” “South Pacific,” and “The Sound of Music.” Special guest Oscar “Andy” Hammerstein III, the grandson of the acclaimed lyricist and author of “The Hammersteins: A Musical Theatre Family,” joins the cast to narrate and share remembrances from the storied Hammerstein legacy.
Sunday, April 6, 3 p.m. $35-$45. Molloy College, Madison Theatre, 1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre. (516) 323-4444 or www.madisontheatreny.org.
